September weather acted like August in Missouri, says Pat Guinan, state climatologist with University of Missouri Extension. Several locations, mostly in southern Missouri, saw record-setting heat.

In an effort to make Missouri state government more responsive and accessible to its citizens, the Missouri Department of Labor’s (DOLIR’s) State Board of Mediation (SBM) teamed up with the Office of Administration Information Technology Services Division (OA-ITSD) to begin accepting petitions of Certification for Representation, Decertification and amended petitions online at https://labor.mo.gov/SBM.

Cuba Fest comes to Recklein Historic District on October 19-20

The 58th Annual Cuba Fest will take place on Saturday, October 19 and Sunday, October 20. Cuba Fest is hosted by the Tri-C Club of Cuba, and it has something for everyone to enjoy. The fall arts and crafts festival takes place in the historic uptown part of Cuba that includes Recklein Auditorium, Recklein Memorial Library, Holy Cross School, and the Crawford County Museum.

Old Iron Works Days returning to Maramec Spring Park

    The James Foundation will be holding the 41st annual Old Iron Works Days on October 12 and 13 at Maramec Spring Park. The weekend will feature craft demonstrations, displays, food, and a look at the way of life in the 1800s when the iron works was in operation.
