Four members of the St. James High School wrestling competed in the Missouri State Championships at the Mizzou Arena in Columbia over the weekend, although none advanced to the medal round.
A walk-in registration day is scheduled for Sunday, February 23 for St. James residents to sign up for spring soccer programs. The event will be held at the Recreation Center in the Nelson Hart Park from noon to 4 p.m. for those wanting to sign up.
The CHS girls basketball teams played three games last week, hosting Hermann and taking on Salem and Belle on the road. With a victory over Belle (and a victory Monday evening against), the varsity Lady Wildcats now stand at 3-1 in Gasconade Valley Conference play and will look to wrap up a second-place finish this week.
The Cuba High School varsity boys won a thriller in Belle on February 14 to improve to 2-2 in Gasconade Valley Conference play with just one game remaining on their GVC schedule. The win came on the team’s second buzzer-beater of the season.
Cuba High School’s varsity girls have been seeded fifth and the boys have been seeded seventh for the Class 3 District 3 tournament, which will get underway Saturday in Herculaneum.
The CHS junior varsity boys basketball team played a pair of games in the Bourbon JV Tournament last week, reaching the consolation finals, but couldn’t find a win.
