Tigers third at Hermann

    The top-seeded St. James High School boys basketball team, hampered by illness and injury all week, ended up placing third in the Hermann Tournament by beating host Hermann 62-46 Saturday in the third-place game.

Halbrook signs with Mo Valley

After wearing several hats for the St. James High School football team the past couple of seasons, Nick Halbrook hopes to find a permanent home on the football field in Marshall, Mo.

Crocker takes first at big tourney

    The St. James High School wrestling team tied for 29th in a 43-team field over the weekend at the Kyle Thrasher Classic, held Friday and Saturday, Jan. 31-Feb. 1. Some of the top teams in the state competed in the event.

    Two teams that have been nothing short of great on the defensive end and at least a tad bit inconsistent on the offensive end clashed Friday, Jan. 31 at St. James High School.

Lady Cards beat Potosi, playing in Newburg tourney semifinals

    The Steelville High School varsity girls basketball team earned a non-conference win at Potosi on January 29 to move to 13-4 on the season. The Lady Cardinals, who are playing in the Newburg tournament this week, are also 2-0 in Gasconade Valley Conference (GVC) play with three games remaining.

Cards beat Salem for third time

    The varsity boys basketball team at Steelville High School is sitting on a 13-2 record after earning a pair of non-conference victories last week over Newburg and Salem. The Cardinals will not play their first Gasconade Valley Conference game until Friday, when they host Bourbon at 5:30 p.m. for homecoming.
