Lady Tigers win FRC opener over New Haven

    The St. James High School girls basketball team returned from the holiday break by opening Four-Rivers Conference play with a 38-25 victory over New Haven Monday at St. James High.

    The Bourbon High School varsity boys basketball team improved its record to 8-2 Friday with 74-64 victory in Newburg. The Warhawks got the win after a 34-point fourth quarter rally.

Lady Cards headed to Park Hills title game

    The Steelville High School girls won their first two games in the 64th Annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Central Christmas Tournament in Park Hills to reach the championship game, which was scheduled to be played on New Year’s Eve. The fourth-seeded Lady Cardinals defeated top-seeded and six-time defending tourney champions Park Hills Central on Saturday to advance to the finals.

Varsity boys seeded second in Owensville

    The Steelville High School varsity boys have been seeded second for the Owensville tournament, which will get underway Monday. The Cardinals will face seventh-seeded Belle at 5:30 p.m.

Varsity boys go 1-1 to open Central tourney

    The Steelville High School varsity boys went 1-1 in their first two games at the 64th Annual Bob Sechrest Jr. Central Christmas Tournament in Park Hills. The 16-team tourney was scheduled to wrap up on New Year’s Eve.
