MDC encourages anglers to add color to their catches at trout parks

Fishing feeling a bit drab? The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) encourages anglers to add some color to their catches by getting hooked on rainbow trout at one of the state’s four trout parks: Bennett Spring State Park near Lebanon, Maramec Spring Park near St. James, Montauk State Park near Licking, or Roaring River State Park near Cassville.

Onondaga Cave State Park to host Cave Conservation Corps Day Camp July 9-11

Children ages 8-15 can spend three days with park naturalists learning about caves at Onondaga Cave State Park on July 9-11. Participants will learn about cave geology, cave ecosystems, cave biology, the cave food chain and cave preservation.

Hang it from a tree or pole and let him just give it heck!

MDC reduces CWD Management Zone starting in July

The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) announces it has reduced the number of counties in its management zone for chronic wasting disease (CWD) from 48 to 29 starting in July. Changes to the CWD Management Zone will impact restrictions on feeding deer, antler-point restrictions, antlerless permits for some counties, and mandatory CWD sampling.
