The city of Bourbon, mayor, and entire Bourbon City Council is being sued in their official and personal capacities by former police chief Paul Satterfield in the wake of his firing on March 2. Mark Wenner, Satterfield’s attorney, filed the lawsuit Monday in Crawford County Circuit Court.
During its meeting this week, the Bourbon City Council voted to close city hall until further notice due to the ongoing pandemic. The city also took action to help residents with their water and sewer bill.
Thanks to the generosity of Blue Bit Internet Service, the Community Center in Bourbon is making free Wi-Fi Internet service available to people in the parking lot outside of the Center. This will continue until further notice or until the emergency stay-at-home restrictions are lifted and people are allowed to go back to work and students can return to school.
The city of Bourbon has a new police chief as of Monday.
City Clerk Cathy Bremer announced Friday that Jeffrey “Scott” Zwetow has been appointed by the board of alderman as the city’s new chief of police. He replaces Paul Satterfield, who was fired on March 2.
