Pending a legal opinion from the county attorney, it appears that Jinney Lane will be restored to the inventory list of roads maintained by Crawford County. After months of back-and-forth debate between residents on the road and county officials, resident Jason Basham was able to find documentation showing Jinney Lane had been on the county road inventory list, and he provided that new information to the county commission.

Crawford County residents are invited to pick up a fair book of the upcoming Crawford County Fair to be held July 9-13 at Hood Park in Cuba.
The Crawford County E911 board is questioning the invoice received from the County Clerk’s Office for the April election. The emergency communications agency was charged over $16,000 for one ballot item that asked voters to select a board member. E911 Interim Director Brad England approached the county commission at their Tuesday, June 11 meeting to ask about that cost and its dramatic increase over previous elections.
The Crawford County Commission meets each Tuesday at 9 a.m. in the county courthouse, located on Main Street in Steelville. During the month of May, commissioners conducted the following business for the county.
Superheroes from all walks of life came together on Friday, June 7, to fight for a cure for cancer at the 19th Annual Crawford County Relay for Life. The event was held at the Recklein Historical District, where a total of $40,000 was raised for the American Cancer Society to help fight cancer in all its forms.
