Instead of reasoned arguments Trump resorts to name calling to attack his perceived enemies and to excite his supporters. Fear and anger are enemies of rational thought and therefore an effective device of autocrats.
Letters to the Editor
Dear Representative Chipman,
The Clean Missouri Act passed by a wide margin in 2018. That’s because we, the voters, know that we want “clean” voting districts. Respect us please.
When the average American hears or sees the news, he might become frustrated not unlike President Harry Truman who said, “There are lies, damn lies and then there are statistics,” or as Alan Dershowitz whose newest book, “Guilty By Accusation” demonstrates, most people are perplexed by contemporary journalism.
Impeachment proceedings were not designed as a test of popularity. They are meant to constrain out of control elected officials. But, as a political process, it may be influenced by popularity.
It is so revealing when the swamp critters in Washington, the so called news media, the deep staters, the one worlders and the never Trumpers are running out of oxygen as the water starts to drain from the swamp. They get more desperate and start grabbing for straws, hoping no one will notice their corruption and agenda.
