Twenty-four students selected to honor choir

    Twenty-four high school students have been selected to the District Honor Choir, the top choir in the Central District. Selected students have been invited to rehearse and perform in November, showcasing the skills that got them selected.

City working to fix drainage problem near Distribution Center

    Work on an easement near the Walmart Distribution Center is underway to help alleviate water runoff between the facility and residences in the area. The city has dug a trench in the easement to catch water, but the source of the problem has yet to be identified.

City makes changes to utility reconnect fees

    Changes are coming in October for municipal utility customers who are delinquent or require reconnection. The St. James City Council approved last month, on the recommendation of the Utility Board, to increase the reconnect fees to $50 as well as not reconnecting utilities after regular business hours for those paying a bill late.
